What's in a clean house??

Do you find yourself having the same cycle of thoughts over and over? About once a week I have a recurring thought - My house is messy. Why is it messy? I'm a SAHM, I should have tons of time to keep my house clean. Instead, the kitchen is dirty, the dishes are dirty, the living room is a mess...and I'm left feeling like an inadequate wife. So, I get to work. I clean the kitchen. That wasn't so hard. I do the dishes, take out the trash, pick up toys, and vacuum. I go upstairs and get laundry, and put a load in the washer. I feel accomplished, and a little ashamed that I normally don't get all this done. Upon coming out of the laundry room, I find toys scattered all over the living room floor. Didn't I JUST pick these up? In the kitchen, a pop-tart has been crumbled all over the table and a chair. All of the spoons from the silverware drawer have been placed in the dishwasher, while the dirty silverware from the dishwasher are now in the drawer. Back in the living room, I notice my 2-yr-old with a sandal on the wrong foot, dumping a bag of tortilla chips on the floor. All of this has taken him MAYBE 10 minutes. Then I remember that I have 2 other children. This is why my house is never clean. I lose my resolve, sit down at the computer, and try to find something to bake that involves chocolate. Next week, I will probably do it all again. I'm smart like that.
